Minimalist style in period homes

Something I love seeing is a combination of traditional style properties with a modern twist. Whether that’s a funky paint colour, contemporary artwork or minimalistic style furniture on a classic backdrop. It’s tragic to rip down all the original architrave and detailing in the homes!

I wanted to put together a little inspiration post for different ways to do this. I must say that I don’t believe you need to spend loads of money on the ‘latest’ products to create beautiful minimalistic spaces as that contributes to consumerism. That being said, the only exception in my opinion is effective lighting which is even more important in a minimalistic design as the wrong lighting will make a big difference in the warmth of a sparse room. I encourage DIY projects, up-cycling and using car boots but only in a way that the purchases made are intentional and considered instead of grabbing an impulsive bargain.
